School of the Art Institute of Chicago Magazine
I was part of the creation and rollout of School of the Art Institute of Chicago Magazine, a biannual print and web publication written and designed entirely in-house. After launching, I took on the role of designer and contributing art director for the magazine, along with another designer. The publication’s look and feel focused on always prioritizing SAIC’s wild, experimental art school spirit, while grounding the page layout with a strict grid and type system.
The publication allowed me to explore art directing photo shoots; collaborating with illustrators, videographers, and other freelancers; and translating printed pieces into animated, time-based graphics for Instagram feature stories.
