New Student Orientation

 
 

The School of the Art Institute’s New Student Orientation is a massive yearly event that serves to welcome and excite the freshman class. As such, the project requires hundreds of pieces of collateral — including brochures, handbooks, signage, swag, nametags, and much, much more. I created the Orientation brand in 2016 and led the design and production of the full breadth of elements each year in my time at SAIC. The brand is still in use almost a decade later.

SAIC’s five core values are: We are explorers, Meaning and making are inseparable, We are artists and scholars, Chicago, and We make history. Using custom hand-drawn typography, and a vivid 80s-inspired color palette, this brand introduces new students to those values during their first week on campus.
